WORC RULES

General Rules

1. Competitions are run in accordance with the current British Riding Club Rule Book with any additions and
exceptions as the Committee may decide.
2. The Chairman and the Vice Chairman must be a non-professional riding person.
3. In the event of a member having put his or her name down for an event, money will only be refunded if a Vet or Doctor’s certificate is produced.
4. If a member cannot take his or her place at a schooling session the organiser must be informed so that the place can be re-allocated.
5. All competition entries must be paid in advance.
6. To qualify for a cup, members must have joined WORC not later than 7 days before the event.
7. All committee members must have been a member of WORC for at least one year before election, unless invited by the elected committee.
8. To qualify for ‘carrots’ at the AGM members must attend the AGM in person.
9. For the purpose of WORC’s events and activities a pony is deemed to be 15hh and under, a horse is deemed to be over 15hh.
10. Any member under the age of 18 must have a responsible adult present when participating at events and activities organised by WORC.
11. The committee reserves the right to refuse membership or entries from a member for any of the following reasons:-
a. A member presenting a horse at any WORC activity that is unfit, unwell or deemed to be unsuitable or a danger to others.
b. Horses under 4 years old (with the exception of in hand classes).
c. Any member seen mistreating a horse.
d. Any member who is in arrears with membership fees or entry fees.
